Emma was born in Overton, Texas. She attended and graduated from ARP Colored High School in Texas. She moved to phoenix in 1956 to begin a new start and to be closer to family members. She enjoyed listening to Brother Larkin's Gospel radio station and reading her bible. She was also a tireless homemaker. She enjoyed every minute and when her favorite basketball team, the Phoenix Suns, played. she would not miss watching the game. She was a soft-spoken woman that was very polite, kind, and interesting. She is missed greatly.
